Not being a facebook person, I didn't know people actually did such stupid things.
Where the privacy? Who freakin' cares (other than the supervisor at work, lol)?
I mean, are there guys in facebook that post like "just got laid, too tired to post" or the like, and upload a pic of the lady's undies or taking a shower?
as an employer it becomes very quickly obvious when people take sickies but are actually getting drunk. you already know which of them have good work ethics, and which ones don't, so when they call in sick on a 'party day', you're already 80% sure they're faking it. the next time makes it 99%. many of my employees are my fb-friends, and I've seen similar status screw-ups every now and then. the worst I've experienced so far was a worker 'calling in sick' at 2am from a noisy bar, utterly hammered.
same thing goes for being late from work btw. the reliable ones are never late, and the unreliable ones always. it makes absolutely no difference how far they have to travel.
but you let it go, because you know how it is, and have probably done it yourself at some point of your life. only if it becomes a bigger problem you take it up with the person in question. or make a "shape up people, this IS work remember, and you ARE getting paid for it" -type of speech addressing everyone. - all this will of course reflect in the future choices around the work place. the ones you can depend on get all the good stuff when it comes up. no matter how 'good guy' the sickie guy is otherwise, nor if he's actually better at the work itself than the reliable worker. because you need reliability more than the skill. (it's not often that an unreliable worker is good at his work though.)
so git crackin' you lazy buggers. the orphans won't steal their kidneys by themselves! ðŸ˜
