I have tomes of correspondence to and from my congressman dating back to six months before the Iraq invasion urging him to op ...[text shortened]... voting record in presidential elections. I don't think I ever voted for a winner, oh-for-4.
I voted independant as well. In Utah it is pretty much a given that the republicans are going to win. The only way my vote counts is if I don't vote for either Rebublicans or Democrats.

I would be more proud of him, if this time he voted Democrat in order to show the wing nuts the door and give a strong message we aren't going to stand for destructive waste and pillaging of our Countries wealth for profiteering at the cost of human life. He is right this is not the party of the more responsible Republicans of the past. The only problem is right now most of the libertarians and independents would make it much worse. They almost always vote with the Radical right wingers. They are just an extension of the Republicans. Another rubber stamp for corrupt leadership.

Yes, but I am proud of him because he opened his eyes and realizes that the Bush administration DESTROYED everything the Republican party stood for!

* Less government
* Less spending
* conservatism

Yes, the Bush/Cheney administration snuck into office and then acted like liberals!!!

I agree with you except I don't really believe that is what liberals stand for at all. I think liberals stand for
1) More responsible government. Less Government waste, abuse and fraud.
2) Less destructive spending and more positive spending.
3) Conserving on waste fraud and profiteering. Liberal on education, support for the handicapped, elderly and sick. Liberal on Clean air and water. Liberal on having a strong economy. And looking for new progressive ways to make things work when old policies fail. Not just staying the course.
4) Wanting to work together to make all of America better as opposed to separate and breaking the backbone of the poor and middle class in our society.

Still, the Bush administration which is more like Nazism and imperialism is bad for true Conservatism or Liberalism.

I should have said they were worse than the liberals to make my point. They certainly did not uphold the Republican party's views.

I'm bookmarking this post to respond to it. And when I respond, I'd like to ask you if you agree with the things I believe in. You call yourself a Democrat, but my guess is you'll say the things I believe in are more or less common sense. I'm slightly drunk right now so I'm not going to get into it at this moment.
That is probably why I get in so much trouble.
