If I wore dark glasses all day and all night would my night sight improve, or would the eye strain make my night vision worse?

My guess is that the eye strain would make both the day and night vision worse, and eventually you might not be able to see during the day without them. Just a guess, though.

People always say that reading in dim light is bad for your eyes, so I wonder: Is listening to quiet sounds bad for your hearing?

I saw an experiment where someone wore a pair of glasses that turned everything upside down. After a while everything straightened out but when he took them off, everything was upside down again.
Dunno if that's relevant but I thought I'd tell you anyway. 🙂

I would think it would make them worse. It might weaken the muscles that allow our pupils to dilate.

This is a good question to mull over with a beer and a shot.

Why not. Among your many fools errands, shooting yourself in the foot should fit right in to your schedule.

Most likely, you would be wearing your sunglasses at night, not be able to see anything, walk out in front of a moving car and be killed instantly. No need to worry about your eyesight then! 🙂

Your eyes would adjust to the glasses, with the eventual effect being that they would have the same effect as you would have had if you had not worn them continually to begin with.

Like, imagine living in a dark cave for a year. When you come out everything will be way too bright until your eyes re-adjusted. It's not your eyes adjusting though, it's your brain. The sensory receptive centre of your brain will adapt itself to your environment as per your needs for survival. That's probably also why blind people have a heightened sense of hearing.
