To our American (and Canadians if affected) members; it looks like you’ve got a drop of weather going on out there. All the best for the next 24 hours or so.

We had a high temp Wednesday at 2PM of 57°f. By 7 PM we were at -4°. It snowed all night and evening, snow let up the next morning and we were at-10° with a high of 7. This morning we were -19, high of 9.
Ironically a summit meeting to discuss global warming was canceled due to the hotel's frozen water pipes.

Pilot light went out...(the wind down the exhaust pipe?)
It won't relight.
Had the oven on and open to help.
Middle floor of a house so we may get cold but we won't freeze.

Landlord coming tomorrow 🙄

Climate change, not global warming.

Overall it's getting warmer, sure but there's going to be more and more extreme weather, including cold snaps.

Weather patterns have been changing for many years now.

That being said, hope you're all ok there.

These terms get confused by the media who use them interchangeably. As I understand it, the earth's average temperature is increasing - that's global warming. The frequency and strength of storms, floods and landslides are all increasing - that's extreme weather events. The term climate change should cover the whole package. Is that how others see it?

That’s not good. Maybe nip out and buy an electric heater to help?

Also, get a carbon monoxide detector for the boiler. In the UK these are mandatory for all new installations. It’s a killer.

Don't worry. Soon we will have a state controlled digital currency and everyone's carbon footprint will be calculated. Only the wealthy will be able to travel. Mostly their private jets to lecture us on the evils of climate change.

Still blowin’ n snowing here. Cold, low visibility and people out there who think they can outsmart Mother Nature. Seems a lot of them found out to the contrary with hundreds of car crashes on the surrounding highways and byways…fools.😲 Now having said that they are saying it will abate by this evening. We’ll see.🤞

Once again we got lucky it seems to have went all around us a little over 20,000 without power in an area within 3hrs from where we are in a semi circle. Affected area's are said to have a little over 104,000 without power right now. Areas closer to me should have their power back by later today at different times.

We did get some wind last night, but knew it wasn't going to hit us bad before I went to sleep, just from the sound of the wind. That is two times in a row now we have gotten lucky. Our turn is coming, the rest of you in affected areas try to stay safe and warm.
