They call themselves a noise band...is that like when Sonic Youth is really screamin'? I see that they tour with them.
Marcus, have you heard 'Human Animal' yet? Any opinions? I have yet to hear it.

I'm always up for something new. I'll find a site where I can hear a sample. Sorry re: Noise Music and Wolf Eye. I'm keying on the one with Anthony Braxton. I see where these guys have roughly 150 recordings??
For the time being I'm listening to Hendrix at Woodstock...Great versions of Spanish Castle Magic and Hear my Train a Comin.. It's a pretty awesome Hendrix recording.
Today I picked up a new Neil Young and Crazy Horse cd - Live at the Filmore East 1970. If you're fan of this band it's a must buy. Live versions of Everbody Knows this is nowhere, Down by the River and Cowgirl in the Sand among others.

Human Animal is less about aural assault and is more an album to be listened to compared to most of their CDRs - a brooding, wounded beast before the last ten minutes of release. Think you'd approve Darv. Saw them at ATP Nightmare before Xmas a couple of weeks back - Connely was a bit indulgent but still good.

Flaherty is a great sax player in the mould of Braxton - Corsano, possibly the best drummer I've ever heard, let alone seen- Yeh, twisted violin and vocal strangeness. Marvellous.
Highlights though were undoubtedly the manic cosmic funk of Sunburned Hand of the Man and the onstage improv antics of No Neck Blues Band. Maybe ATP will eventually get to Canada...
BTW the Wolf Eyes/Braxton set was recorded at Victoriaville last year - where were you Darv???
Originally posted by badmoonMany recordings they have but unless you go to the gigs there are only about a dozen readily available. The two Sub Pop releases are good - some/many of the CDRs lack quality control - but frankly it's all about the live action.

Oh, and if Bossa is lurking, I also got to see the glories of a Nurse With Wound live set...
