I'm currently reading through House of Leaves for the second time. It's great. A little strange at first but it's even better this time now that I can see the foreshadowing for what it is.
I've been reading it off and on for months now. I'm around pg.150-200 (forget exactly) and would have finished it much sooner if I weren't so busy with school.

BTW: The first page with "This is not for you." has to be the best attention grabber I've seen at the beginning of any book.

Dang! I know that quote!!! My first thought was Catch-22 or One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Next, but I can't remember if either of them were writtin in first person. That's going to drive me nuts now.
Catch-22 is written from the point of view of Yossarian.

EDIT: Actually, no, it's in third person.

Life and Fate by Vasily Grossman. Just finished it. Someone recommended it on a RHP thread and if they happen to read this, thank you very much. It was phenomenol.

Read House of Leaves - you can thank me later. And here's an early "you're welcome".

Yeah, but do you have many leather-bound books and does your office smell of rich mahogany?

Ok, reader...can you tell me what my profile quote is from? No googling. 😉
Dang! I was wrong. (Yes, I had to resort to googling) Shame on me. And I was an English Major, too! 🙁

Wow, ironic, after reader said "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" I thought of the Catcher in the Rye. Even more ironic is the fact that I'm yet to read it!

Hm...

Those books do tend to all go together in our heads! Yes, I didn't post the answer because I wanted to see if anyone else would try. 🙂
