The most important requirement is of course frequently moving opponents .... OR lots and lots and LOTS of opponents who move only infrequently.
In the days when I was making multiple moves per minute there where times when it was a distinct advantage because I found myself involved in a limited number of fast moving 'blitz' games and could follow the thread of them... this was before the notebook feature and when I had to come back to a game after several days I'd completly lost the plot.
Nowadays I tend to log on and have a batch of games to work through (normally between 20 to 40) and I find myself skipping quite a few to come back to and use the analyse board feature.
Anyway, good luck to you all you Monthly Mappers! π

I made 23000 moves one month and all I can say is boy did my brain hurt. I think I kept a reasonable rating. A lot of free time and an ability to go weeks without much sleep. π

Not sure what you mean, but I am sure I agree!
P-
v. bog·gled, bog·gling, bog·gles
v. intr.
To shy away or be overcome with fright or astonishment: “The mind now boggling at all the numbers on the table, both sides agreed to a recess of an hour” (Henry A. Kissinger).
Or, more simply - π²
Explains my feelings on 23000 in one month quite nicely I think. I've made 6000 in one year. π
