Only your partner can answer this.

Thread does cause one to wonder why trev's question, certainly a valid and timely one, was posed publically. Code taught to my generation held that you conduct yourself honorably with poise in all situations; pay your bills and discharge your responsibilities in a timely manner; treat others, including your enemies, better than they deserve; protect your family; never hurt your friends; do what you know to be right, no matter what the actions of others may be; never welch on obligations; respect the privacy and rights of others; never kiss and tell. Hesitated posting to this thread. Doing so questions its motive, which is none of my business.

Was that back when we walked 12 miles to school and it was uphill both ways?

In truth, Bobby, these are the same values being taught today, even as we speak, by most
self-respecting parents. Our generation doesn't have unique insights on right and wrong.

Lying or hiding the truth.

Flirting, looking and thinking, sex, orgies, etc are all ok if your partner knows what you're doing.

Some days it was downhill both ways, Andy. There are clearly difference between generations (our grandparents, our

parents, ourselves, our children). What remains the same is to have the conscience and will tto do the right thing.

Knowing what is right isn't enough. Even a highly developed conscience with keen norms and standards doesn't necessarily cut it. Doing the right thiing requires will power and a stron ...[text shortened]... re unselfish in both word and deed. A census of draft dodgers could be taken on one hand.[/b]
1 hand? Really? I had no idea. Are there stats to verify that GB?

Hi, GBS. Somehow clicked a wrong combination of keys and poof... lost the entire

first paragraph. Edited it all out and gave Andy an executive summary in reply.

Note: Answer to your question is 'no'. Simply used a figurative metaphor.

Aha I see. Some of us are metaphorically challenged and take what's said here as the gospell.

Vietnam War marked the beginning of the coward exodous to Canada and elsewhere. Generally accepted,

I believe, that following WarII the world gradually changed. Some positive changes and some negative.
