Can anybody add to this, or expand on it simply?

It's for Thai Kids to try to understand.

"""Culture is the way we live, with the things we use to live, in a particular place and a particular society. It is all of those things used together, in a pattern, that forms to make the way for a shared life; in one culture. That life is different from other places; those other places having different ways and different things that they use to form their own different culture."""

Any additions, positive ones, welcomed.

Any others...... you know what I'll do to you! 😛

Boileau, a french writer, wrote: "La culture, c'est ce qui reste quand on a tout oublié". Culture is what's left after everything has been forgotten. It's the framework you build as an individual, group, society, .... where every knowledge, expertise, memory, ... finds it's place.

Well as long as the child has a minimum BA (86% average) it shouldn't be a real problem.

We're all born into the same human race but live in different places on planet earth. We all grow up in different villages and families. We learn to appreciate different languages and traditions, attitudes and opinions, music and foods. We cultivate different gardens. That's the picture of what culture means. We respect our cultural differences. They make us strong.

Impression was that "culture" derived from the Latin 'cultura, cultus' (with some Ancient Greek origin)

signifying ' to cultivate'. Also always thought the French 'haute' had the connotation of high or grand.

Culture, from the Latin cultura stemming from colere, meaning "to cultivate"
