FACT: I know NOTHING about computers. I was having alot of problems with Internet Explorer. My nephew suggested Ubunto. When i boot up i can either go into ubunto or mircrosoft. Ubunto uses firefox. I now have NONE of the problems i had before. Nephew didn't want any money from Uncle Granny, so i had to shove it ( the money) in his mouth and kick his ass out the door. He'll be back!

I only use Ubunto for emails and bopping around the internet. I have no idea about Other Stuff, I can always go to microsoft for the Other Stuff if i knew what it was. My Boo Babe uses the Other Stuff.

Wouldn't it have been easier to simply install Firefox for Windows?

Granny, your nephew doesn't happen to be a pirate does he? Do pirates plunder their own side? Ubuntu is not only free, they can send you a free CD. However if you are cannot read and understand basic instructions I don't blame your nephew for making a quick buck. I would never do it to my granny though.

If the problems you were having with Windows were related to viruses then maybe that's why your nephew wants you to use Linux for internet stuff. There are still far fewer viruses for Linux than for Windows, and like all other flavors of Unix, Linux is a more difficult environment for viruses to prosper in. So if you were having virus troubles I say good call by your nephew. If that's not the reason then it's still a silver lining.
