Just installed an amazon echo (a gift) and it accesses all my HD stuff and Amazon prime (a huge library of music, the point here) not to mention FM radio and much more.
This is not to endorse the echo. If you are an audiophile, it could be where you audition what to buy. But the idea of owning music is well, passe. Try to sell your CDs.

I don't think Amazon have released the Echo in the UK, unless it's the Fire TV Stick. I have a student sub to Prime but, as with all recommendation engines, the music suggestions are quite poor, and using it can be a bit of a soulless experience.

Gave my husband an Echo for Christmas. Huge hit!
I'm not much into gadgets, but I do find the Echo to be both really useful & entertaining.
