me and my friend are having this debate over democrat or repub. we are both in the marines and i realize that repubs have more sympathy toward the military. that is not the reason i am a republican. but i am curious to know what you have to say. would you re-elcet my boss pres bush or go for the leading democratic candidate?
Originally posted by usmc7257I don't think "sympathy" for the military is the correct word to use as that means that he feels sorry for us, which I don't think he does. Maybe "identifies" with the military would be a better word to use, but that would still be a misnomer as Pres. Bush has limited exposure to the military from his days in the National Guard in which many people feel that he had a "cush" job that Bush the Elder helped him to get in order to avoid Vietnam. Is it true?..dunno...don't really care. I'm neither a Republican nor a Democrat because I refuse to cement my loyalty to crooked politicians from both parties simply because they are republican or democrat, and I don't believe either party has the country's best interests in their plans. Both parties pander to organizations, lobbies and others and have NO interest in what the silent majority want for the country. It's a damn shame that you have to raise millions of $ just to run for office; what ever happened to running for office on merit, reputation, character and a desire to really serve the country's interests(Lincoln) instead of one's own? So, to answer your question, no, I will not vote for Bush or any of the other scumbags unless they put the country first instead of their special-interest bedmates and themselves.

OK, maybe in some areas (Star Wars) but not drastically. Use the $$ saved by reduced military spending to reduce debt in developing nations?..what about reducing OUR debt? I do agree with eliminating NAFTA and some of their environmental poroposals, but they want to immediately dismantle nuclear energy when that was the cause of California's electricity problems in 2001. What happened was California dismantled their reactors without replacing them with a viable energy substitute, thus shortages and chaos. Until we find an alternate and safe source of energy that's cost-effective, we will need some nuclear power...France does just fine with nuclear energy. The Green Party would be a great system if EVERYBODY in the world had the same agenda, but alas we don't...'tis a shame... 😕
