The things that make me happy in life are living my dreams and never letting anything get in the way of them, whatever they may be on any given day.

and

Having no regrets in life.

It doesn't take anything but the presence of my mind to make me happy, because that is the true sou ...[text shortened]... make others happy. If we can learn to not let anything be upsetting, we are always happy. Done!
Are you recommending that we all get lobotomies?

No, I'm suggesting we learn to patiently accept things as they are. Que sera, sera. We don't have control over everything, and we shouldn't let those things that we do have control over upset us. What's the point in letting something upset you? It takes a long time to become happy when upset, but it only takes an instant to become upset when you are happy.

For my clan to crush the Apostles and Metallica in mortal combat, to break their spirit utterly, to rend the flesh from their bones and leave them to bleach in the scorching, pitiless sun. Would that bring me hapiness? It would be a start.

After utterly annihilating them and smashing them into atoms, I would sow the gr ...[text shortened]... gh they had never existed. Would that bring me hapiness? Probably not, but I'm willing to try.
perhaps it's time for a little time off for you?

I would be happy if i had a big car and a big house and a big truck to carry all my money from one vault to another (just so everyone could see how wonderfully big and successful i was).

However, im sure this wouldn't keep me happy forever, so i recon once i get borred doing this i'll buy a football club or something, so the people will love me.

If i still become unhappy after this i'll probably renounce my wealth and follow spiritual enlightenment along with selected hollywood drop outs and druged out rock stars who are straight out of rehab. When i finally realize that this CAN'T make me happy, i'll probably revert to doing what im doing now, cos you just can't beat the simple life :p

So we should gladly suffer all the injustices of the world rather than try to change them? If slaves had just patiently accepted their slavery they would have been much happier? If women had just patiently accepted their status as second class citizens they would have been much happier? Your approach sounds like an attempt to institutionalize suffering and injustice.

Did I say attempting to do something about certain situations should be forbidden? No, I said if we want to be happy, we shouldn't let anything upset us.

Of course, we should always try to better other people's situations, but why do we need to get upset while doing so? Sure, if I saw my mother being beaten, I would want to help her, but getting angry will not make me any better a person than the beater himself. Only out of anger do you want to cause harm.

I would want to better not only my mother's situation, but also the beater's, so that my mother is fine, and the beater learns the "error of his way". Isn't this the a much better goal than having your mother in good health and the beater "getting his own back"?

Patient acceptance of most any situation is hard, but it is always more beneficial than becoming angry.
