I tried the "share without competition" thing for photography. Even the least successful rounds of the photography competition were a lot more successful than that. And I wouldn't say that the prose competition is doing badly; I was impressed by the number of entries, and there have been quite a few votes and some comments. Personally, I need some pressure to get started, and I don't think a thread where you can share your prose without any competitive element would provide that for me (maybe if it had a deadline...).

the truth of WHAT exactly? that people who can't think of a better derogatory pun than 'worm' from the cornucopia of concepts packed into the word 'wormwood', are so utterly lame it makes the target actually pity them? (and for heaven's sake, it's your first language, where as it's my fourth!??)
