I was wondering (as I ask many people in games)...What's With Your Name? Some are easy (442, ... I can't think oif anyone else'sπŸ˜•) but others are a real mystery, like Phlabibit.
And I though I might direct you all to this site... www.avp-movie.com

πŸ˜€ Mine is easy enough, 442 is to do with football, what is D43MON i ask myself. Phlabibit i think, if you read it as flabby bit makes more sense.

The Hitch Hikers Guide is a must read... I should read them again, it's been a good 10 years or more since I have.

My name?

A long time ago I was hanging with some friends one evening drinking. In the middle of a word I burped... and it sounded like "Phlabibit".

A friend of mine started calling me Phlabibit, and it stuck.

No one calls me Phlabibit anymore, but the screen name lives on.

πŸ˜‰

Edit! I'll go check out www.avp-movie.com when I get out of work... Taking care of my father's Dog and he's got Hi-Speed Internet.... (My Father, not the Dog)

THE ONE AND ONLY IS BACK momentarily, cause I have to get on with studying for the end-of-year exams :'(
D43M0N actually means Daemon in hacker-speak. Hacker-speak is replacing o's with 0, A with 4, E with 3. I don't know why I chose it, but even some freinds call me that now, except they say: DeeFourtyThreeEmZeroEn. Sounds wierd, but that's how I say it.

I've always read your name as Daemon and figured that's what you meant by it but didn't know the why and all that. I figured the 3 was a backwards E.

First, I agree with Phlabibit - The Hichicker's Guide is essential reading. I originally read it probably a decade ago on a friend's suggestion; it was the only time I've read a book that size (the first part) literally on one sitting. (I might have gone to the bathroom at some point though. πŸ™‚ ). I just couldn't put it down.

Secondly, Phlabibit, I'm envious of your burps, mine aren't half that creative! πŸ˜‰

Thirdly, my own handle "Pyrrho" comes after the greek philosopher who opposed the dogmatists, and founded the shool of thought of scepticism. I don't agree with his every conclusion, but I am a sceptic, and have been known to oppose dogmatism (it's kind of my pet peeve).
[EDIT:] I have yet to create my own school of thought though. πŸ˜›

LOL! Actually, just after I'd joined with that handle, it did occur to me that people might be intimidated by the prospect of having their house mysteriously burn down after a crushing victory over the virtual board against someone named "Pyrrho". πŸ™„ Was too late to do anything about it then, so I thought what the heck, whatever works... πŸ˜‰

Worry not though, I don't play with fire! πŸ™‚
