But then again, sometimes you just wanna haul off and smack the crap out of some fool. 😀
Jaynes' postulated that our social fabric is built around a need for "authority" that we likely internalized before speech evolved. 😉 This makes humankind reasonably easy to manipulate by religious fervour and predisposes us to acknowledging secular authority, as well as making us eager to "give" authority to petty tyrants and all kinds of dictatorial "leaders".
Our Bicameral minds have us hard-wired that way 😲 Consequently it takes effort to control the stupidity of our social behaviour - both individually and in groups. 😀 But this should need no explanation here!

Please don't use foul language, I know you are upset but it doesn't help that you swear.
I'm not sure what your point is, Arrakis. Are you trying to tell people what we should write about?
Edit: Gee, it felt GOOD telling that a-hole off. 😵

Every time I try to mention Julian Jaynes's book "The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind" as a guide to understanding how we think our way through this vale of tears there's this vast resounding cyber-silence that ensues... 😴 Maybe adolescent sexuality is more intriguing than trying to think your way into changing the world: "Be the change that you'd like to see in the world" - Ghandi

Without it we have anarchy. Its there for a reason and we should consider why exactly we want to break it. My personal knee jerk reaction to authority is to disregard it, but I am very glad most don't react that way. It would lead to a complete breakdown of society. Now if psychiatrists want to get together and use this book to help them figure out how to reprogram the brains of people who are perhaps overly obedient or overly rebelious, then great, have a big old head shrinker ho down. Just because sissy boys' book is not for me doesn't mean it doesn't have its purpose.
