When does hair begin to go gray?

My sideburns are beginning to sprout some gray hairs. Also there are a few gray hairs scattered about in my beard. I am only 26. Is this too early to start going gray? How long before I get completely gray?

Stress is why I have stomach ulcers. 🙂 I thought gray hair was genetic or something. Either way, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank dear old dad. 🙂

I had a teacher in grammar school whose hair was completely grey, and I think he was about 30.

Stop touching yourself.

Graying early is strickly genetic, usually follows your parents, grand-parents etc if they grayed at a young age. Sometimes it is prominent in Irish descent. Gray is a color too, wear it proudly.

I would say it is mainly genetic. My dad didn't start going grey till around 60, and he hasn't exactly had an easy life.

And stop touching rbmorris.

There, that should help.

Still got a full crop of blond (and a daily imperative to shave a very stubbly face of whiskers for a fair skinned dude). So, Sir Paul, if I am

a few years your senior... must conclude the variable is either thinking pure thoughts and praying a lot or the stubborn Swede coming out.

Shave - no more gray hairs.

If your hair is darker in color the grays seem to come in sooner. I think it is only because they are more noticeable due to the contrast.

And tell rbmorris to stop touching me.

You are far too young for gray hair. There is something seriously wrong with you, and you will most likely die young.
