I learned the game when I was 18.Me and my friend were both unemployed and spend our days in the pub, playing games. After some time we grew tired of those games and there was only this one game left that we hadn't tried. It was called chess. The owner showed us how to play. What fun we had back then.I think it took us 2 years to learn all the rules. The owner was the only one who knew a bit about them, and he only showed us things like castling when he needed it to beat us.LOL Aah,sweet memories 😵
Nowadays,my friend doesn't play anymore,but I got hooked 😉
Originally posted by pkingjacquesChess was being played by my father and older brothers every day. I used to watch, picked up the ideas and in-between played 'soldiers' with the pawns. I can't remember when I started playing the game for real, nor when I learned the rules. Certainly long before I could read. Guess: 3?

my father taught me to play when i was five. i played religiously until about the age of 14( a year after i finally beat him) i picked up the game off and on the next few years mostly to take money from friends who used to play me when i was little. i really started to get back into it almost 2 years ago when i joined rhp as mikal182 i quit all my games due to joing the marines and finally got the free time to get back here. i truly missed this site!
