Before I've even started.

I've always had a poor tolerance with alcohol and can get a headache with just a sniff of certain cheap wines like Blossom Hill and Echo Falls. Cider makes my face go red and makes me argumentative and I've had a couple of bilious vomiting attacks a few times after a long nights drinking. The last time it happened it took me a week to get over it completely.

I try to keep count on how much I drink during an evening and I try to stick to wine only.

I think one good indicator is when you cannot drink anymore, you've probably had enough to drink.

Drink when you are happy.
Drink slowly and meditating.
Drink water in between sips.
+ self discipline

I used to do a little but a little wouldn't do it
So a little got more and more

The moment comes every other Friday evening at approximately 11 pm. When that moment arrives I know I have had enough to drink and I go home.

I am a cheap drunk and If I have a beer or two with dinner, that is it, 3 beers, I get drunk. So I just know I have a 2 beer limit or 1 large glass of wine. I don't like getting drunk.

In my 20's I could roll home with 10 pints inside me, hardly drunk at all, and sleep motionless like a contented baby for 9 or 10 hours. Sadly these days 3 pints has me getting up with a bursting bladder, half a dozen times in the night. A cruel trick played by age. Sadly 'when' comes at around 3 or 4 tins, no more. Shame: I like beer but I like my kip too.
