i joined rhp a couple of months ago, and ive found a lot of nice people here. whilst some of the latest forum discussions have centered on the forums themselves (some of which are side splittingly funny) i think we should concentrate on the game of chess.

so lets hear all your stories of good sportspersonship here on rhp and who you think is the most sporting member here.

Anyone who has played chess with me knows I am less than good. But several people have offered to teach me, among them Delmer, Natural Science, and .... well, my mind has gone blank. Suffice it to say that so many people have been kind to me and have supported me in the spirit of good sportsmanship.

No question about it....dinc168.
Nope, he doesn't hang out in the forums or debate with people. He plays chess. We watch each others ratings and games. cheer each other on when we're winning and encourage each other when we're losing. By far my favorite opponent.
Greatbigstees never gives up, thetick always plays hard (always!), The Slow Pawn has taught me alot, and Ironman31 has been very polite and willing to chat even though it took him longer to chat with me than to analyze how to beat me. Many, many more that I'm probably not giving the respect they deserve right now.
It's funny, people forget that many players come on and play chess and NEVER even read the forums. They don't care. They are here to play chess. Never hear of dinc168? take a look. He's a very active member of RHP and a great oppnent. He doesn't sit in forums all day and argue. Shame is that he'll never even know this post exists. He's too busy analyzing his games.

Too many to just pick a few.In one year and 363 games I've only experienced some mild unsportsmanslike behaviour,I think,3 times. In online chess, that's awesome!Maybe I've been very lucky with my opponents.......

Rayn, thanks for the words ...

My list

Ironman - extremely strong player which I had 2 really great games against him ... The subsequent analysis (and I played extremely well in these games) has been awsome !! I've also seen him playing Pulstilla on many occasion so one can only assume he teaches her chess

Feivel - I had 2 great games against him (thrown away a win in 1, but hey, that's the difference between 1600+ and 2100+) ... In addition, he plays any rating without complains and when he played NicolaiS (1100-1300) he gave him some really good lessons. That alone deserves a rec.

Tejo - Although I had not the pleasure playing him personally yet, he has analysed many games from M&M members

On that note, feel free to join the M&M forums - there is no literally no censorship so be aware of explicit language on occasions, thank you -

There are many more strong players here teaching people chess, but these are the one's I stumbled over, so thanks Sander, Feivel and Ironman

Boris

Let's all stand up for a moment of silence to dinc168, that with all his bravery stands before the mysry of the RHP forusm, and with a brave spirit and courage, helps Mr. Claus with his games๐Ÿ˜ž

Aww...thanks, Sarah! Glad I could help. And may I say you're about the most sportsWOMANlike person on RHP!

ANyway, I'd like to nominate Wib. We had two tough games, both of which he won, and good conversation througout both games. He's someone I'd gladly play again.
