I'm sure there's no need to capitalise nazi, fascist or tory.
I don't know why, it just doesn't seem right to do so.

Tory is short for Conservative. The right wing capitalist party in Britain.

A cat choked on a mouse, who killed who?
Tell me your thoughts.
-was only trying to defend itself. In this case it is the cat's fault as it killed the mouse on purpose, whereas the killing of the cat was only an accident.
-was trying to get even with the cat. In this case they are both guilty.
-was trying to get revenge on the cat because the cat had bitten it... in this case, there are two possibilities:
-a) the mouse survived and is thus a murderer. It should be hanged. Now it is dead too.
-b) The mouse is also dead because the cat killed it before it died... they are also both guilty.
On the other hand, there is the possibility that the mouse had attacked the poor cat. The cat was thus
-trying to defend itself and killed the mouse by accident. In this case, the mouse killed the cat.
-trying to get even with the mouse for being attacked... it is the cat's fault because it is much bigger and stronger and must be extremely stupid to be murdered by a mouse...
-trying to get revenge on the mouse... again two possibilities:
-a) the mouse lived, is convicted of first degree murder and is hanged. Now it is also dead.
-b) the mouse also died. They are both guilty.
Of course, if the cat attacked the mouse because it was hungry and was thus only following it's instincts...
ah well, they are both dead, so who cares?

Ok - Brits are weird. How is TORY short for CONSERVATIVE?

Consider the word "conservatory".
It has the word "conserva(tive)" at the beginning, and "tory" at the end.
Perhaps, I mused, in a fit of playfulness, someone had called conservatives "conservatories". And then, craving conciseness, they had shortened this hilarious nickname to "tories".
Sounds plausible, no?
Of course, I was completely wrong.
However, there was some consolation.
The original meaning of tory was "brigand". This is derived from the Gaelic "torachd", meaning "to pursue with hostile intent."
Truth in advertising!
