Feliz Navidad, fascist!

Happy Christmas to everyone, Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, Jews.
All the ones I have known celebrated Christmas.

To the Christians I normally wish them a Happy Saturnalia.

Merry Christmas implies getting drunk - which of course we do not condone.

Does Happy New Year imply getting sober then?

Merry Christmas does not imply getting drunk. Are you already there?

No.

I think it is more of a wish that the person you
are speaking to will be happy in the coming year.

I could be wrong.

Is the expression "getting merry" foreign to you?

I invariably go with, 'bah humbug!'
