Y is J in black talk and Spanish. Charlotta
I've lived my life around "black" people and many of them talk proper. I know more whites who try to talk "gangsta" than black people so it isn't "black talk". Also, I've never heard anybody say " jo momma" ever in my life whether they be black white or in between.
Edit: and it doesn't matter what it sounds like. Words aren't all spelled phoenetically.
The sound of yo(I), even when it doesn't sound completely like a "y", doesn not sound like a hard "j" rather something in between the two.
