I mean most of the world isn't caucasian but it seems that all the racist jokes come from the caucasians. Does this mean that caucasians are actually an inferior race and they compensate by laughing at other groups? 😛

Jokes are often aimed at the steriotype of a group. Steriotypes for Muslims/Jews/Blacks/homosexuals are well known (in the West), whereas caucasion steriotypes are rarer. Because of this jokes aimed at caucasions tend to specify a small subsection of society for which the steriotypes are known.

If you were to start your joke "a caucasion walked into a bar..." everyone would conjure a different image of said person so the joke probably wouldn't work. If you were to say "a blond walked into a vbar..." people automatically substitute 'blond' for 'stupid' and therefore will follow the line of the joke

Outside of Western society I'm fairly sure there will be jokes aimed at caucasions as a whole because their view of caucasions will be narrower and the steriotypes mroe solid in the peoples minds.

there's the irish jokes? and the canadian ones...and the kiwi ones...and the texan ones...

An Irishman and an American were sitting in the bar at Shannon Airport.

"I've come to meet my brother," said the Irishman. "He's due to fly in from
America in an hour's time. It's his first trip home in forty years".

"Will you be able to recognize him?" asked the American.

"I'm sure I won't," said the Irishman, "after all, he's been away for a long
time".

"I wonder if he'll recognize you?" said the American.

"Of course he will," said the Irishman. "Sure, an' I haven't been away at
all".

but yeah-they're generally in "good houmer"-a lot of the others are just plain racist...😛)

What about the whole "Redneck" line of jokes?

You're a redneck if....

I know a lot of folks that find those racist and offensive.

Ah, but that can end up being racist. Are you saying that a British Citizen of Nigerian ancestry is not really British, or that they belong to a different race to any relatives they have in Nigeria, or that we're all the same race after all? If you say 'no' to all of these you run into logical difficulties.

IMO it would easier if we accepted the last option, that all humanity is one race, but some people won't accept that, so we end up with all the problems associated with classifying ourselves and each other into different races.

When I first heard blond jokes, I just assumed it was one of those conventions in jokes that no-one could possibly take seriously in real life. Yet I hear it said so often that blond women are stupid, without any kind of punchline at the end, that I'm starting to think that some people really believe it. Also, I've noticed that redheads seem to get a disproportionate amount of taunting, presumably because redheads are usually a small minority so get picked on for being different. Yet this kind of prejudice doesn't count as racism, so it's far easier to get away with than taunting someone for their skin colour. I wonder if anyone's done studies as to how likely a blond woman vs a brunette is to succeed at a job interview, for example.

I've known many blonds, and in general they do seem more likely to be 'dizzy'. Then again, I've known many people who have been termed 'honorary blond' because they are dizzy too. Before anyone gets mad, I'm blond.

Red heads get the short straw because they are a minority. But there are studies that red heads truely do have shorter tempers; some suggest that this could be linked to neanderthol genes. Does this lend credability to the fact that a physical trait really can be an indicator of a mental one?

Joke for you: which is more likely to suceed in a job interview, a blond or a brunette? The one with the biggest t**s

What about all those "African-American" stand-up comedians? Lots of 'em tell jokes at the expense of white people. Not that I find those jokes offensive, I'm just saying that there is no shortage of jokes at the expense of any group or race or whatever!
