So, I was about to be kicked out of the theater for
loudly moaning out of sheer delight when Lord Vader
appeared and kicked butt.

It annoys me to no end, though, that the coolest cat in
the galaxy just can't win. Am I the only one who wants
to see him win, wipe out the bland rebels and do-goodies,
and install a reign of terror?

Because he can't win.

Oh, he can occasionally win to make it seem like the Rebels are on the ropes (SW V:ESB), but he's the black hat, man. The white hats are always gonna win in the end. It's the nature of the genre.

Besides, let us Americans have our hope. It's a dark time for the rebellion, right now in America, and it's going to get a lot darker before it gets brighter. Dark Helmet, AKA 'Orange Julius', has only begun his reign of terror.

Well he can't win since the story is out.

You can write your own story (beware of copyright issues if you want to put it into the Star Wars universe).
