Why pick on the Americans?

Rugby football, Australian rules football, Gaelic football and Canadian football are all absurdly named as well.

What's Rugby football? It's just Rugby here.

Rugby Football Club (R.F.C.). It's commonly used in Britain.

"Fantasy Throw and Catch" doesn't flow.

Hardly common, that's an outmoded name generally only used for club names. We realised years ago that it wasn't really a foot game and changed our colloquialisms accordingly 😛.

It depends on what you are shaking with your hands.

What does American football have its roots in?
Gaelic football- kicking it is often seen.
Aussie rules- not too sure, but think they kick it quite a bit.
Canadian football- WHAT?! never heard of it, whats it about?
Rugby football- probably known as such for its roots, with some silly little kid cheating in a game of football.

American football- no kicking really, except in 'set pieces' from what I can tell.

Um...because there is a ball, and you use your foot to kick it every now and then...for the extra point, see. And..um...you use your foot to run with the ball...and...um....CRAP I have no idea.

It should be called "kill everything that moves" ball. That is more accurate.

Nah, rubbish! They all wear teflon coated Y-fronts and the likes, for added protection. Not like proper rugby players. 😛

Where've you been hiding anyway Shanshu?

FootBall isn't a problem at all... all of these games inc american football stem from the original. On the other hand Grid Iron? is this Sychronized Laundry?

Just so as not to pick on Americans let's have a go at Lawn Bowls.... Come on Brits it would be more fun if played by young ladies in lyrcra (Spandex for the Americans). Or if played while drinking copious quantities of liquor

😛😉🙄
