If you'd care to send some of that rain over to my part of the world, it'd be gratefully received. We're already in danger of having a horiffic bushfire season this summer, seeing as how it's only the middle of spring and temperatures are already heading above 30 degrees C.

Seriously, I'm a bit scared. I'm sure lots of you heard about bushfires in Canberra in January 2003. I have no desire to ever see anything like that again, let alone repeat it after only a few years.

I'll try to send some over, but I fear it'll get lost somewhere on the way. πŸ™

Such a thing is nothing new to me. Maybe I get such a storm every two to five years. Maybe I will not see the sun for up to two to three weeks in a row at times starting in Autumn to Spring.

The weather here is quite unpredictable, but one thing is certain - I will not see the sun for about six weeks in a row starting at the beginning of December (unless I am travelling). πŸ™‚

When does the end of the end start?

Your profile states that you are up in the north. I am in north west part of the USA South.

Here it's 6:50a.m., bright and sunny about 84F/29C. Definitely not the beginning of the end.
The end would still follow proper time zone precedure. For example, when the end comes, people in London will be dead 5 hours earlier than me. Which gives me time to get over to Hawaii to live out the last 7-8 hours of my life on a beach.
