Because if you jumped from a modern jetliner, you'd probably die, parachute or not.

Just not practical. For one, if the plane was going across water then where would everyone land? Splosh! Also the orderly evacuation of 200-300 passengers all scrambling for 'chutes, fitting them and diving out of the plane would just not be possible with untrained personnel. Finally, I think the heights that planes fly at would make it impossible to dive out due to thin atmosphere. And finally finally, opening the doors would decompress the cabin, sucking unequipped people out into oblivion and ejecting debris at high speed.

I think the passengers would stand a better chance of risking a controlled crash landing.

Most crashes occur on take off or landing giving no chance of a full evacuation by parachute.

I could go on but can't be bothered. 🙂

that's my point. Why is modern jet liner built that way that you can not jump with a parachute ?

I'm guessing it has a lot to do with simple speed, in the name of time-savings and fuel-efficiency.

valid reasons. But I think the main reason is still "because is not economical" , which makes me sad. It would probably be quite doable. (is doable even a word 😕 )

Did I forget to mention that it might not be practical jumping out of a plane at 600 MPH. There is also the problem of passengers getting sucked into engines, bouncing off the wings and being blasted with fierce exhaust fumes. I honestly think I would prefer to stay on board and brace myself rather than run the gauntlet of the hostile environment outside the cabin.
