Why we are here today.

General

I am retired, and recuperating from hip replacement surgery. This place and Angry Birds keep me from going nuts while I'm immobilised.

To save embarrassment when you post a blank, edit the post, enter a real four-letter word (not a sanitised spelling) and robomod will tidily remove the whole post for you. I'm good, walking after 4 weeks, just not allowed to drive yet.

Why we are here today

"I have been off work on the sick.
This place has been helping me to recuperate.
I have enjoyed your virtual companionship."

'Forgot to mention I'm sick of work.
Recuperating here has helped me save some face
with my boss, my spouse and laptop mouse.'

Your timing is all wrong for me, that was my social time of day. And now it's my bedtime. Sorry.

Untrue on two accounts: a) Those who are no longer here and under the yoke of social bondage, having been set free; and b) Those kind souls still

here, strutting their stuff in rank in an internecine cadre, though their epitaphs were etched and duly recorded yesterday (and/or the day before).

I'm sorry, I didn't understand those words. Could you lay them out in a simpleton's breadth of words, please?
