Here's the part where an old man tells a story.
About a year or so ago, one of our neighbors had a Chihuahua named Brownie, a female. A neighbor on the other side had a Chihuahua named Woody. Well Woodie and Brownie were pals, they played and hung out, and it was obvious without too much anthropomorphism that they really were fond of each other a great deal.
Well as oft times happens when boys and girls get together, Brownie was expecting. Woodie still hung out and played with her. When Brownie had her litter, Woodie would visit the puppies and Brownie, he would play with them and help look after them.
When Brownie's owners moved away, poor little Woodie would go into the new people's house and get shooed away. He hung outside the door for days. He was in my opinion heartbroken and despondent. It took perhaps a few months before he seemed to understand.

He was a good dad, better than some people in this world.

Maybe he's looking for an anecdote. 😕
