World's #1 problem is 'IDtenT' proliferation. Please jot it down.

I always thought it was the Irish.

And maybe Canadians...

They're both filthy little breeds.

Lack of empathy
Why is that behavior so prevalent in real life as well as here?

It is an epidemic spread by humans.
It is the cause of millions of deaths yearly on this planet.
Its' children are justification and blame.

Like your logic, caissad4... seems to suggest the human species is defective to the extent that it is preoccupied with self rationalization,

self deception and self absorption. Usually manifest in hypersensitivity to self and insensitivity to other people. Still on the same page?

Same page.
Our defects probably originate way back in our evolution. Something which helped in survival but is now self-destructive.
I believe that the real challenge to the human race is to exceed our evolutionary programming.

I'd love to quote Mr. Jackson on this one, but it would only get moderated...

You will have to decide what is right and wrong first.

I do not eat meat or use products that are still being tested on animals, I do my best to think about what I buy and wont get involved in transactions that are the result of someone's or something suffering.

I may be very misguided and the majority of people think I am wrong, but today I caused no suffering.

Its easy for me to sit in my ivory tower and blame those people that dared to do things for mine and every bodies safety and well being, but the time has come for us to address the necessity and effectiveness of what we do for the greater good and agree a better cause of action.

Eh, you're OK. Thanks for making the effort. For that you must be commended. Keep on keeping on mister. You are doing better for our world than most.
