ive got myself a worm / trojan virus.

I run AGV .it spots it. but doesnt kill it. i cant get my hands on it.

any ideas how to ridmyself of this thing?

even SPy bot seek and destroy spots it. but doesnt heal it.

im pretty stuck.

Have you tried the geeks at the Tom Coyote forums? They have helped me in the past when software alone couldn't. I think it is linked to Hi-Jack This (I use the term geek in the most flattering context possible).

If you told us the name of it it would help maybe.

Either way, you could do a free online virus scan at Trendmicro.

Try Avast. My computer man put it in my computer. I do not know if it is free or not or even if it can deal with that computer virus.

It will switch off read-only protection for those files possibly infected, thus allowing antivirus software to alter or delete them.

its everywhere..

on startup, the virus is spotted about 50 times hitting different files

im going to work out how to disable sysytem restore

on the verge of a system restore turn off... it warned me. If i turn this off. i will lose all system restore dates.

not sure i want to do this.

Yes you do. It is standard procedure when eradicating worms and viruses. System restore saves settings and files including viruses.
