I started "Atlas Shrugged" by good ole' Assimov. Just couldn't get into it.
Aside from that, the worst book I have ever read would be Elf Queen Shannarah by Terry Brookes. It was so fricking rubbish I actually burnt it in a fit of revulsion. I have never burnt a book before or since and I still think it deserved it. The idea that there are talented unpublished authors out there who never get the chance, when this pap gets printed infuriates me. It is about as good as Blobby's 'how to win friends and influence people'....

Being the inspiration for this thread, I'll copy and paste my post from the Godfather 1 vs. Godfather 2 thread:
Forget the movies. Has anyone read the new The Godfather Returns book by Mark Winegardener? It is... BY FAR.... the WORST book I've ever read in my entire life. I've never even seen a movie I hated as much as this book. There are literally almost a dozen sex scenes, and (this isn't a big revelation or anything), Fredo turns out to be a homosexual. It is so, so, SO freakin' awful. I've literally thrown the book across the room probably five times now just out of frustration of what has happened to what started out as one of the greatest stories ever told. This guy has completely killed it. Completely. The Godfather 3 was The Godfather 2 compared to this freakin' thing.
