i can only assume gook is an evil magician who has the entire boro staff under some sort of hypnosis spell. as the man has quite clearly never played football in his life. gives us all hope that anybody can become a professional football (well if we can sell shirts in asia might help).

If I remember correctly Souness was the manager at the time and he was duped by someone claiming to be George Weah saying that Dia was his nephew (?) and that he was a Liberian international.
Souness bought it hook line and sinker, gave him a temorary contract. He can't have even seen him train as he had in on the subs bench and brought him on in a premier league game and the guy was so bad that he took him off again. Still makes be laugh, that guys must win hands down at Southampton.

Blimey, Palace have had a few. Brolin is often touted as one of them, but to be fair he never had a chance. Leeds played as a week or so after he arrived and their mercilous taunts shredded the man of confidence. The talent and touch that he had playing for Sweden wouldn´t have completely disappeared.
