I'd like to see a group of WWE wrestlers in every weight class (male and female) stripped of their face paint, capes, colorful clothing, and other nonsense - given standard NCAA wrestling uniforms and deposited at Penn State, Iowa, or Oklahoma State to face the best college wrestlers under NCAA rules. - - - No turnbuckles to jump off, no ropes to tie people in, no fake head smashes, no brainless bimbo's dancing around, no stupid speeches. Just 1 on 1.

- and let's see just how good these "professionals" really are!

So my question here would be if the audiences of WWE and NCAA are the same or quite different.
I presume that those watching WWE are more interested in "show" elements.

JELLO!

Give him a break ... he just wants to watch guys "grappling" without the show-boating.
Nothing wrong with that.

Isn’t one just entertainment and the other just sport?

technicality boy to the rescue!

all sport, since the dawn of sporting time
every different ball, every different playing field
every track upon which the race is run
every endeavour of contest, regardless of trophy, prize, or recognition

is "just" entertainment to mesmerize the masses

@mchill

I'm a lover, not a fighter.

Isn't sport also a sublimation or rechanneling of our primal urges to engage in war with one another?
