Hi, I have a copy of XP pro I need to put on another comp and
decomission the old one. I have two versions of the product key
however. If both keys are valid, does it matter which one I use?
I think I have down to one of two so it shouldn't be that big a deal
to re-enter the number but doesn't any valid key work to activate XP?

However, don’t use the ones start with "Y". If you ever going to download any updates from Microsoft, your operating system will detected and the version starts to mess up.
Not that I know anything about appz or cracks..

accepted by the comp but when I went to activate it, this new window came up with 9 sets of 6 digit numbers and I called this 888 # to
get a new ID code and had to enter all of those digits in to the automated system only to be transferred to a human who told me the system was down for maintenance and call back in 24 hours. It would have been nice for someone or something to have said that before I talked in so many digits on the phone! Apparently they don't like you to switch computers, even if the old one is 5 years old. Stick it up here MicroSoft. At least XP works on this comp. Now for all the drivers.....
XP user...Repartion your drive then try again. If you get problems, dirch XP for win 2000 pro.I have learnt that xp do's not like slow to medium processors. You really need a processor of 1200mhz to run xp without probs.Be weary of cd roms/burners with high running speeds. The golden rule is...fastread/slowspeed.
