'scuse me, but I've been talked about a bit during this thread, so just to put the record straight, FMF and I share a deep and abiding friendship, (with very low toxicity levels) (In fact I haven't noticed any) We work well together, creatively and intellectually, and on occasion we raise a glass of ale well together.
So enough said, except that if anyone here assumes or supposes that I bear any resentment for anything anyone has (ever) said or done here they are mistaken, people do what they do, and I hope I'm big enough to take it. I am a duck (metaphorically speaking) , I have a back, and anything which happens here is water.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidIndonesia Phil is copping a fair few red thumbs for his magnanimous post above. Do you think this might be something to do with the fact that you don't think the two of you are "getting along splendidly" anymore?
If FMF did not exist on this site Phil and myself would, I'm sure, still be getting along splendidly.
@indonesia-phil saidThe feeling is mutual, Phil: it's a friendship founded on and forged by making radio together and now it's a friendship that transcends that activity ~ and it extends to your better half too

@fmf saidPerhaps the 3 of you should get a room and discuss this subject more. I for one have heard/seen enough.

@very-rusty saidWell, let's see, there's FMF, so that's one, and then there's me...Sorry, I can only make that two, unless you worthy Canadians have a different counting system? In any case why such malcontent at the expression of friendship, Mister Rusty? How does this so offend your sensibilities, and that of the other (so far) eight people who have thumbed down my post? I would genuinely like to know, but am sure that no explanation will be forthcoming. If you've heard (did anyone speak?) or seen enough, can I suggest that you don't visit this thread anymore? It's as simple as that.

Sorry to hear IF you are from Canada! 😛 🙂 Another black mark so to speak against us. I pretty much go into any thread I want Phil, sorry if it bothers you! 😛 Do you have proof I thumbed down your post? Careful before making accusations.

@indonesia-phil saidI think Very Rusty was just trying to say something grotty to you and the best he could come up with was to refer to your partner disrespectfully.

The Bear and the Two Travelers
Two men were traveling together, when a Bear suddenly met them on their path. One of them climbed up quickly into a tree and concealed himself in the branches. The other, seeing that he must be attacked, fell flat on the ground, and when the Bear came up and felt him with his snout, and smelt him all over, he held his breath, and feigned the appearance of death as much as he could. The Bear soon left him, for it is said he will not touch a dead body. When he was quite gone, the other Traveler descended from the tree, and jocularly inquired of his friend what it was the Bear had whispered in his ear. “He gave me this advice,” his companion replied. “Never travel with a friend who deserts you at the approach of danger.”
Misfortune tests the sincerity of friends.
