I know the thread says films but I prefer stage...

West Side Story still my all time favorite,
followed by:
Wicked
Cats
JC Super Star
Big River
My Fair Lady
The Phantom of the Opera

Would love to see Hamilton but it's too damn expensive.

Re-reading this thread, I see the topic is "films", and not musicals, per se. I really, really like Singin' in the Rain (1952) and The Sound of Music (1965).

🙂 Lee Marvin probably shouldn't either, but then that's part of what made it stand out for me. Two guys who have absolutely no business trying to sing, yet there they are, in a musical, singing.
