Wondering if you use yours and, if so, the number of nicknames it contains. Mine reads, "Your ignore list is currently empty, except for Grampy Iggy".

Heres what I think about the ignore list:
Its to be used by 'weak' people who easilly let themselves get irritated.
Unless someone is seriously spamming you I dont see any reason to ignore him/her. Be the 'stronger' person and enter the discussion with your arguments. Or just ignore someones actions by yourself, do you really need a list for that?
I have 5 user names (one of whom is banned) and the Forum Moderator on my ignore list. I use it because there are a few people who like to send annoying PMs to me that I'm not interested in receiving. Of course, I could just delete their messages without reading them, but this is a bit more efficient.

I just checked, and had this guy: User 443847
absolutely no idea who he was and why he pissed me off. I guess he didn't make much of an impression.
I've had very few people on my ignore list, and when I add the next I tend to take the previous one off. largely because they've already left the site or been banned at that point, but also because I generally try to not carry grudges. I don't put them on ignore easily either, they really have to send very nasty stuff, and a lot of it. simply being an idiot has never been enough.
