I remember YouTube before there were adverts.
Last year there were 5-second adverts before some videos.
Then it was virtually all videos.
Then it was two adverts prior to a video without being able to skip the first one after 5 seconds.
And so it went.
I just had to sit through TWO 15-second adverts, neither of which could be skipped or foreshortened.
This seems to be a new normal.
And there are adverts now urging me to subscribe to YouTube to get an advert-free experience.
Meanwhile, the amount and range of content on YouTube now are staggering.
What are your predictions for what YouTube will be like in two years from now?

@fmf saidHmm. Two years out might still be a transitional period.

But YouTube videos, if they (or human conceptions of time) still exist then, might be a nice pastime for the natty sofies of the days to come.
@fmf saidI have also noticed this unfortunate and often annoying trend. I wonder if other video channels will spring up in the wake of this decay at YouTube.

Wikipedia has so far resisted the need to commercialise and is all the better for it.
@very-rusty saidA lot of things 'go right through' you, including most ideas.
I always urinate after having a coffee, seems to go right through me.
