Youtube downloading problem

Hi

I'm using a Mac with Snow Leopard and have been succesfully dowloading stuff from YouTube for ages now. it's mainly cartoons etc for my little one. Anyway, I have been using the activity window method where you look for the biggest file and double click it. However, yesterday it all changed! The activlty window now shows the video being split into chunks of about 1.5 mb. These load one by one as the video plays so are not all available to download until the whole video has finished playing. i used to be able to click the single file and it would start downloading leaving me free to go on to the next video. Is it just me having this problem?

There hasn't been a need to use a program - just a simple double click and job done. I have tried using a free program but still hve to wait until the video has finished and end up with loads of files. Have you tried using your program recently?
