“You come here often?”

<"First time I've stayed in the hotel. Quite nice. Close to Logan, too"

>“Mine's Aries. What’s your sign?"

<"Not sure. On some cusp or other, I think."

>"Just curious... wondering who here believes in zodiac signs?"

<"Never really gave it much thought."

>"My name's Ryan. May I order something for you?"

<"Okay. Just one. I've got a return flight to London at 6:15 AM."

>"What's your pleasure?"

<"Wine, their dry white from Lisbon... well chilled, please.

By the way, Ryan, my name's Susan."

>"Incredible.... "

You know, having slept on it, the two characters seem passably real. Susan comes across as gently diffident. A certain aurora of easy in the harness confidence and tidal calm surround Ryan. Yet their brief converation evokes a tone of meaning well beyond the mere weight of the words themselves. Best frame of reference in literature, for me, would be T.S. Eliot's "The Love Song of J. Alfred Pufrock" or "The Wasteland". Curiously, Ryan's horoscope for today: Monday, Oct 1 "You are feeling sober and realistic about love at this time, and are interested in being with people you respect and can depend upon - your oldest, true-blue friends. Also, reaching out to an older relative or another mature, experienced person can mean a lot to you and be mutually beneficial now."

Make it a productive week.! gb (aka, Ryan on an exceptionally well populated, diverse international dating site offering numerous forums with fantasy rich conversation 24/7)

Depends on the context. Stanley is certainly a boys' name in 1990's Honolulu, but in 1940s Witchita? Maybe, I don't know.

Now who I feel sorry for is all those girls walking around with the name "Andrea".

"A woman named Stanley: "Madelyn thought that was the height of sophistication!" recalled her brother Charles Payne, and the notion of giving her baby girl that name took hold. The coincidence that her husband was also Stanley only deepened the association."

You have a tendency to introduce rules after the game has already begun. The Ryan in this story (my version) always introduces herself by last name because she's a cop.

Clarity was my intent, JS. Sorry if I missed the mark by your personal, conversational standards.

Appreciate your interest in and posts to the thread (been quite awhile since the last one).
