I have been playing on here a while and it has crossed my mind that I play people from all over and Their messages are in English. Is this an english speaking site so thats why as people who can understand the language use it or is there a translator built in. If the first I have even more respect for the my new chess friends than before, as I can only speak english. I have noticed some of the game names are not english but messages always are. Anyone in the know please put my mind at rest. 😕

You're welcome.
It's like with air traffic controllers, no matter where airline pilots come from they converse in english. Example, a Russian pilot flying over Germany will be talking to the German controller in english.
There are probably/definately other chess sites that operate in a different language of course.
That's what's so good about chess, you can play anyone in the world and you don't even have to be able to speak their language.
