I think the logic would run mostly client side - therefore no bandwidth drain.

I was thinking of the bandwidth needed to send such a complex script to the client each time we call up the Analyze Board screen.

(If the board understood the rules of chess enough to do castling, en passant captures or pawn promotion, it would be a very complex script. If it didn't, it might have trouble working out where one move started and another ended.)
