what are thematic tourneys? (if it are just normal english words, I'm sorry, my English sucks)

Yes, they are rated.. well.. at least the hypermodern tournaments were rated so I would assume they all are.

Tournaments that start from a given position. The one currently open is the Slav Defence. All games start after 1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6.
