Because it is a member benefit to play in tournaments.

Its to make you pay up those 30 dollars. Its not like $30 is much is it? RHP is worth every penny (or cent) a lot a more besides.

Lol $30.00 is alot, Wish I could
I saw there was a tournament where whoever is the winner gets a free subcription, maybe the sysops could create another one just like that, except for 1300 and under rating lol

I believe that money is often put up by a member that wants to support the site. Now that you have asked for it, I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up.

$30.00 isnt too much, for ppl who do it professionaly, but for me, who does it for a hobby, who cant play very good, And has a hundred hobbys, that is a bit much. I Mean for $30.00 I can go skiing for for a whole day, 8 hours, and have a blast, or I can pay 30.00 to play in a tournament(s)

    🙂

1 day skiing, or 1 yr unlimited chess?

...ok the skiing does sound more exciting, but you get my point?!!!

yea, for 30.00 I can play chess all year, but I can do that at any other site free, paying money to play chess seems like a waste, especialy when your a begginer,

PS, I still think they should open at least one tournament for non subcribers 😛

With the "chess isn't worth it" attitude expressed above, I strongly suspect no such offer will be forthcoming.
