Wud it be possible, tho it isnt necessary, to perhaps highlight the king square when it is in check? a nice red shade perhaps?

If you look in the corner, the lower right hand corner their is a box when you are in check it will tell you. If you need help To find this open up an old game and look for checkmate in the same game progress box. Or move timeout, what ever it is.
