Hi

Why is it that when you claim a win on time out you do not get the
rating points? If your opponent doesn't have the decency to move in
the required time he should lose the rating points and you should
gain for being diligent about playing your chess within the 3 or 7 days.
Is this how it works or am I bitching about something that is my fault?
Thanx in advance.

It depends on how many moves have been made in the game - if it's,
say, one move each then the time-out won't affect either of your
ratings.

On the same subject, I have claimed two time-out wins so far, and
noticed that each of those games, which were rated games while being
played, became unrated when the other player quit making moves
and I finally claimed the win on time-out. Seems to me if it's a rated
game, then it should stay rated until it's over.

I think this is fixed now. Any game with fewer than four half-moves
played will never be rated but otherwise all claimed wins should be
rated (if the rated option was selected at creation). The bug we had
was the summary view did not increment the "Rated" counter - but still
the rating points should have been modified.

Yes, looks like it is now fixed! Thanks, and keep up the good work!
