Deleting inactive accounts?

Just wondering, do inactive accounts ever get deleted?

After looking at other people's older games, some of the people they've played haven't moved in any of their games since 2001. Do these inactive people ever get their accounts deleted or do they just sit on the site forever?

If they got deleted what happens to games they played against players who are still active?
