My computer is being a bit slower than usual. I keep getting this message when I turn the computer on;

"AVG Control Center
The red highlighted componants are in an error state!
Please pay urgent attension to their configuration!
Anti-Virus; Internal Virus Database is out-of-date."

If this is real obvious and I ought to know what it's all about then I'm sorry just humor meπŸ˜‰

AVG software normally will automatically log onto it's website and download an updated database of known viruses. It usually does this during a time period that you designate when you set it up.

If you are trying to do other things on your computer at the same time that it is trying to download, it can slow you up quite a bit for a while.

Once it has downloaded the update, you usually will need to reboot your computer. If you do not reboot, that message may come up.

That's about all I know about AVG, so I hope that helped.

My AVG auto updates. Sometimes if the computer has been off for a bit, I get that [or a similar] message I simply update [as mentioned above] by right clicking the icon and selecting 'update'.
That's the definitions update that I mean and not the program itself - I normally don't have to reboot afterwards.

Recently, my AVG has been in constant error state. It downloads the updates automatically then says it is in error state dude to the fact that a reboot is required. I can't be arsed rebooting for the sake of a few KB of definitions, so I just put up with it.
